Tasting - "2012 Cortenova Pinot Grigio"

Name: Cortenova Pinot Grigio
Variety: Pinot Grigio
Region: Venezia
Country: Italy
Year: 2012
Price: $7.95
Shop/wine critic/winery review: "
Brilliant straw color with emerald reflections. Fresh and floral bouquet with a hint of pears, apricots and bananas. Fresh and inviting with bright fruit and an easy drinking style with a pleasing hint of almonds in the finish. Pairs well with seafood dishes, risottos with scampi, spaghetti with clams, sole in white wine. Perfect also as an aperitif."
My review: Out of all the wines I tried for this course, this was by far my favorite. I really enjoyed it! On the nose, I smelled some grape, strawberry, and fresh squeezed lime. It had overall a very bright floral and fruity aroma. The flavor was very light. The initial texture of the wine was crisp and a bit dry. The finish was clean and refreshing. I would agree with the critic's review and say that this wine would be a great aperitif.
